Miele connects with the SAP Business Network for Procurement

Current status of the implementation of the SAP Business Network for Procurement

At Miele, the current focus for the rollout of the SAP Business Network for Procurement relates to the area of Procurement Indirects. Step by step, Miele is carrying out the transitions across the entire Miele Group. The transition currently affects the suppliers of the following entities:

  • Sales Subsidiaries Germany (VG D)
  • Miele X, Amsterdam (MXA)
  • Miele Global Services (MGS), Poznan
SAP Business Network

As a part of the digital procurement transformation, Miele will use the SAP Business Network for Procurement – the world's largest e-Commerce procurement and sourcing network – to optimize and increase the efficiency of collaboration with our partners. This network provides a central platform for suppliers as well as buyers to connect with each other and manage business processes in a transparent and fast way, for example through digital exchange and management of documents. With this step towards improved digital collaboration, we want to position ourselves in a resilient way along with our entire supplier network and take account of the new normal.

With this initiative, Miele is pursuing the objective of making business transactions in procurement even more secure and efficient. Step by step, Miele is thus strengthening the cooperation and valuable relationships with our partners. In this context, Miele will gradually roll out the SAP Business Network across the entire Miele Group. Initially, Miele focuses on the suppliers for Procurement Indirects.

In order to continue working with Miele, your registration in the SAP Business Network for Procurement and the interaction with Miele through the platform is required in the future. All partners who are directly affected by the changes are contacted and comprehensively informed by the project team.

We are pleased that you - our strong partners - are joining us on this future-oriented journey. Together we will shape our partnership true to the Miele brand promise “Immer Besser”.

Account variants in the SAP Business Network for Procurement

Two different account variants are available to suppliers within the SAP Business Networks for Procurement: The standard account and the enterprise account. The decision which account variant to choose is up to the supplier based on individual factors (business model/objectives in the e-commerce sector). No supplier is obliged to upgrade to an enterprise account, which may be subject to a fee.

Standard Account

The standard account is free of charge for the supplier, regardless of the number of documents exchanged, and enables the use of all basic functionalities within the network. Via a central platform, the supplier has access to all relevant information, for example to check the current status of orders.

SAP provides detailed information about the Standard account: Click here

Enterprise Account

Enterprise accounts may generate costs depending on the transaction volume and the documents exchanged.

SAP provides detailed information and a cost calculator in this context: Click here

As a supplier, you benefit from many advantages. In addition to improved support, you also have access to extended functions, for example to automate processes or to connect your own ERP systems.

Steps to connect with Miele via the SAP Business Network for Procurement

You are already a Miele supplier:

Step by step, Miele will connect with all suppliers via the SAP Business Network. As soon as activities on your side are required in the context of this transition, Miele will inform you in detail and invite you to an online information event. Following this event, you will receive a registration invitation to connect with Miele in multiple steps.

You are not yet a Miele supplier:

If Miele has identified you as a potential new supplier, you will receive an e-mail requesting you to register. You can then connect to Miele in multiple steps.

Currently, there is no possibility to proactively propose yourself as a new supplier via the new system to contact Miele.

Suppliers who provide catalogues via the network are informed individually. The process may differ in this case. More detailed information will be provided by the Miele project team.
